Cocktail Trends for 2025: What to Watch Out For

As we move into 2025, the world of cocktails continues to evolve with new flavours, techniques, and experiences taking centre stage. Whether you’re hosting a high-end event or just looking to impress at your next gathering, these trends are set to shape the drinks scene this year.

Seasonal and Locally Sourced Ingredients

Sustainability is still a big focus, and the trend for using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients is stronger than ever. Think freshly picked herbs, edible flowers and ripe, juicy fruits that reflect the best of each season. It’s about creating cocktails that not only taste incredible but also support local producers and reduce the environmental impact. Plus, it adds a story to every drink that guests love to hear.

Nostalgic Flavours with a Twist

There’s something comforting about a familiar flavour, but in 2025 we’re giving them a modern twist. Classics like the Negroni and Old Fashioned are being reimagined with unexpected infusions or creative presentations. Expect to see drinks that evoke nostalgia while feeling fresh and current. One of our biggest cocktail trends over the last few years has been a clarified Pina Colada, a modern take on a nostalgic legend. We recently applied the same clarification process to the cultural staple of Provence rose.

Interactive and Experiential Cocktails

Guests are looking for more than just a great drink, they want an experience. Think cocktails smoked at the table, interactive garnishing stations or bespoke drinks designed around personal tastes. Immersive experiences that make guests feel part of the process are becoming a key part of luxury cocktail culture. One of our personal favourite ways to create these experiences is working alongside caterers at events to create a collaborative canapé & cocktail menu.

Signature Cocktails with a Personal Touch

In a world of social media and personal branding, signature cocktails are becoming more personalised than ever. Whether it’s named after the host, inspired by a favourite memory or designed to match an event’s theme, these drinks add a bespoke element that makes the experience feel truly special. This is an amazing way for guests to intimately communicate to their guests a part of their personality and memories!

Minimal & Functional Presentation

The way a cocktail looks is just as important as how it tastes. In 2025, expect to see a rise in a stripped back no nonsense approach which highlights a robust elegance. As a business we have been making a huge effort to use all our waste products from our cocktail prep in innovative yet discreet ways, for example leftover Rhubarb pulp is turned into edible rhubarb leathers & blood orange peels are desiccated and used with salt on the rim of a glass. It’s all about creating a thoughtful and creative wow factor that help tell the story.

Gluten-Free Cocktails

With more people adapting to a gluten-free lifestyles, whether due to allergies, intolerances or personal preference, the demand for gluten-free cocktails is on the rise. Traditionally, many spirits are naturally gluten-free, such as tequila, rum and most vodkas made from potatoes or corn.

At The Drunken Jockeys, we’re always conscious of dietary needs and are happy to accommodate guests with gluten-free options that never compromise on flavour or presentation.

Low and No-Alcohol Cocktails

The demand for sophisticated, alcohol-free drinks has never been higher. People are more mindful of their drinking habits, but they’re not willing to compromise on taste or presentation. Expect to see beautifully crafted zero-proof cocktails featuring fresh ingredients, herbal infusions and complex flavours that rival their alcoholic counterparts. We feel like this trend is 100% here to stay and is the precursor to a wider cultural shift that will continue to grow.

As we head into the summer season, these trends offer a glimpse into the future of cocktails. Celebrating the best produce summer has to offer and exploring new flavours and concepts.
